





The sport of foxhunting has retained its popularity in the North Salem area for almost seventy years. Its appeal is the tradition and history, the camaraderie, the joy and the challenge of being astride a horse on an early morning ride regardless of wind or weather.
The North Salem Open Land Foundation is dedicated to preserving the character and natural beauty of the town of North Salem, NY and the area around it by establishing land areas free from exploitation, development, and deterioration and by maintaining the environmental and ecological integrity of the area.
North Salem was settled in 1731 and has a population of over 5,100 residents. It consists of 4 unincorporated townships: North Salem, Purdys, Croton Falls and Salem Center, and is one of the few rural towns in Westchester. Open land and horse farms are common characteristics of the area.
Old Salem Farm is Westchester County’s premier equestrian facility, offering boarding, training and sales.
Since 1984, Vail Farm has been owned and operated by hunter-jumper horse trainer, Philip Ake. The farm hosts 2 USEF recognized “C” rated horse show per year.
The Bedford Riding Lanes Association maintains and develops the historic system of trails and dirt roads which extend and connect more than 100 linear miles of trails in the Bedford and Pound Ridge areas.
Now celebrating its 22nd season, the Lewisboro Horsemen’s Association maintains over 25 miles of riding trails and holds events throughout the year
The Greenwich Riding and Trails Association is a nonprofit organization founded in 1914 to preserve, protect, and maintain open space for all nature enthusiasts in our area.
The Oblong Trail Association was formed on November 1, 2000 as an effort to encourage equestrian and nature walking activities.
Beval has spent the past 50 years dedicated to providing superior customer service, while designing innovative riding equipment and apparel.
